Tailem Bend is an hour from Adelaide where the highway junction separates to the Dukes Highway, Princes Highway and the Mallee Highway. An easy drive on the South Eastern freeway and you will be relaxing by the water’s edge of the Murray River, fishing on your own private jetty or kayaking on the river.
An ideal stop over before heading off or on your way back from Kangaroo Island or visiting the Fleurieu Peninsula.
The Bend Motor Sport Park is an under construction motor racing circuit near Tailem Bend only a 10 minute drive from Washpool Retreat, due to have its first race in 2017.

Goolwa & Monarto Zoo
Take a day trip and visit Goolwa, (1 hour) a historic river port hear the Murray Mouth and joined by a bridge to Hindmarsh Island. Wine, Cheese, Olive Tasting
If you would like to spend the afternoon wine/olive tasting visit The Big Olive at Tailem Bend (weekdays only), Willow Point winery over the Tailem Bend ferry towards Murray Bridge or Langhorne Creek, Adelaide Hills wineries are a 30 minute drive, or you can visit the Barossa Valley wine region an hour’s drive.
